What Arciva does NOT do

This section comes first because it answers most common questions:

  • No user account. Arciva has no login and no registration.
  • No proprietary server. MajuSoft does not operate any server that receives data from the app. There is no place where your data reaches us.
  • No tracking or analytics. No analytics SDK, no advertising, no tracking pixels.
  • No third-party libraries that collect or transmit data.
  • No crash reports via third parties.
  • No sharing of data with third parties – neither for sale nor for any other purpose.

Where your data is stored

All data you create in Arciva stays under your control. It is stored in two places:

On your device. Cases, notes and stickers are stored in a local database (SwiftData) on your Mac, iPad or iPhone.

In your iCloud. If iCloud is enabled on your device, your data is additionally stored in your private iCloud database (CloudKit) so it is available across all your devices. Document files are stored in the app’s iCloud Drive container. This data belongs to your Apple account – MajuSoft has no access to it.

The developer can neither view the contents of your cases, notes or documents nor determine whether or how you use the app.

Apple services used by Arciva

Arciva exclusively uses Apple services that run on your devices and within your Apple account:

iCloud (CloudKit and iCloud Drive) – to sync your data across your devices. Data is stored in your private CloudKit database and in an app-specific iCloud Drive container. MajuSoft has no access to any of this data. Apple processes the data according to its own privacy policies.

Apple Reminders (EventKit) – tasks you create in Arciva are added to Apple Reminders. Arciva only stores a link to the reminder. The data resides in your Reminders database, not with MajuSoft.

Text recognition (Apple Vision) – Arciva recognises text in documents, scans and photos to make them searchable. Recognition runs entirely on your device. No image data or recognised text is sent over the network.

Permissions

Arciva requests two permissions. You can decline both – the respective feature will not be available, but the app continues to work.

Reminders – “Arciva creates tasks in Apple Reminders.” Without this permission, tasks cannot be created.

Camera (iPhone and iPad only) – “Arciva scans documents with the camera.” Without this permission, the scanning feature is unavailable. Documents can still be added as files or photos.

Encryption

Arciva uses only Apple’s standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS for iCloud communication). No custom or additional encryption technology is used.

If you enable Advanced Data Protection for iCloud in your Apple settings, your data is stored with end-to-end encryption – the keys then reside solely on your devices. This applies to all data that Arciva stores in iCloud.

Purchases

Arciva contains no in-app purchases. During the beta, all features are available free of charge; after release, Arciva will be a paid app.

No data collection as defined by the App Store

Apple defines “data collection” as sending data to the developer or third parties. Since Arciva does not do this, the App Store states: No Data Collected.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Since MajuSoft has no access to the data stored in the app, these rights relate to data you have provided to us by other means (e.g. by email).

Contact us at kontakt@arciva.de or at the address given above.

Right to lodge a complaint: You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR. The authority responsible for us is Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany (poststelle@lfd.niedersachsen.de).
